Summary

HPE has announced a series of initiatives aimed at addressing the challenges of artificial intelligence, including the introduction of a new private cloud in collaboration with Nvidia. This partnership is set to enhance the adoption of generative AI in highly regulated industries by providing a controlled, private environment.

At the HPE Discover conference, the new Nvidia AI Computing by HPE was unveiled. This portfolio includes solutions and joint go-to-market integrations designed to expedite AI deployment in enterprises. A standout feature is HPE's "first-of-its-kind turnkey, private-cloud AI solution," which offers unprecedented integration with Nvidia's AI computing, networking, and software, along with access to HPE’s AI Storage, compute resources, and HPE GreenLake cloud.

HPE President and CEO Antonio Neri emphasized that this solution addresses the complexities and risks associated with fragmented AI technology, which can hinder large-scale enterprise adoption.

Key highlights from HPE's Discover conference include support for inference, fine-tuning, and RAG AI workloads using proprietary data, and enterprise-level privacy and security controls. HPE also announced support for Nvidia’s latest GPUs, CPUs, and Superchips, including the HPE Cray XD670, which supports eight Nvidia H200 NVL Tensor Core GPUs tailored for LLM builders.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the unprecedented level of integration between Nvidia and HPE technologies, combining Nvidia’s AI computing stack with HPE’s private cloud technology to provide advanced computing infrastructure and services for enterprise clients and AI professionals.

HPE Private Cloud AI is expected to be generally available in the fall, with the HPE Cray XD670 server becoming available over the summer. Specific timelines were not disclosed.
