Indian smartphone maker Lava is back in the spotlight with its newly launched Agni 3, a stylish 5G device equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chipset, a 5000mAh battery, and a stunning curved display. The Agni 3 is now available for purchase in India, marking Lava’s return to the competitive smartphone market.
One of the standout features of the Agni 3 is the 1.74-inch secondary AMOLED touchscreen on the back—a nod to Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Ultra, which made waves with a similar concept a few years ago. This innovative addition allows users to manage various functions such as camera control, media playback, and notifications directly from the rear screen. It also offers functionality for first-party apps like step tracking, weather updates, and a timer, making it a versatile tool for everyday tasks.
Beneath the sleek exterior, the Agni 3 is powered by a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. While there’s no microSD support for additional storage, the phone runs on Android 14 and comes with a promise of three major Android updates (Android 15, 16, and 17) and four years of security patches.
The front of the device boasts a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a resolution Lava dubs "1.5K," offering up to 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1200 nits. Whether you're outdoors under direct sunlight or scrolling through your social feed, the display promises a smooth and vibrant visual experience.
In the camera department, the Agni 3 features a triple rear camera setup: a 50MP primary lens with a Sony 1/1.55” sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. A 16MP front camera takes care of selfies and video calls.
Another noteworthy feature is the customizable Action Key, similar to the one found on Apple’s latest iPhone 16 series. Users can configure it to perform tasks like snapping photos, taking screenshots, or launching apps of their choice.
The device is fueled by a 5000mAh battery with 66W fast charging support, ensuring long-lasting usage and quick recharge times. Available in Heather Glass and Pristine Glass color options, the Agni 3 is priced at INR 20,999 ($250) for the base 8GB + 128GB model, with a premium 8GB + 256GB variant available for INR 24,999 ($300). Pre-orders are open on Amazon India, with full sales commencing on October 9.
