Persona’s Founders Launch New Humanoid Robot Startup

Last month, Jerry Pratt departed from Figure, a Bay Area-based robotics company where he served as CTO for nearly two years. Pratt, a distinguished MIT research scientist, co-founded Persona AI with Nic Radford, a seasoned industry professional with an impressive background at NASA and the founder of Nauticus Robotics and Jacobi Motors. Persona AI aims to revolutionize the field of humanoid robotics.

Persona AI, founded in May, is already making headlines. The startup is leveraging advancements in computer vision, perception algorithms, and machine learning to develop commercially viable humanoid robots. Pratt and Radford believe the timing is perfect, given the recent technological breakthroughs that allow robots to perform complex tasks and interact seamlessly with their environments.

The founders announced their venture on LinkedIn, inviting top talent to join their mission to innovate in the robotics space. They believe Persona AI offers unique advantages over competitors like Agility, Boston Dynamics, and Figure, though the specifics of these advantages are not yet disclosed.

Radford explained that Persona AI will operate out of Pensacola, Florida, and Houston, Texas, with Houston serving as the primary headquarters. The company plans to build a strong team to push the boundaries of humanoid robotics and meet the growing demand for robots capable of performing sophisticated tasks.
